A. The exact rules regarding the special format of vehicle registration plates are set down in Irish law under the (SI 318/92 Vehicle Registration and Taxation Regulations 1992 and subsequently amended by SI 432/99 Vehicle Taxation (Amendment) Regulations 1999). This law outlines the format, dimensions and technical specifications that must be displayed on registered vehicles in Ireland.The main requirements of the rules about the format of vehicle registration plates are:

  • The registration number consisting of numbers and letters must be in black on a white reflective background
  • The name of the county of registration must be in Irish, (examples are Baile Átha Cliath, Corcaigh, etc.)
  • The flag of the EU and the letters “IRL” must be placed on the left-hand side of the plate, the flag comprising 12 gold stars in a circle, the letters in white beneath it, all on a blue reflective background. No other numbers, letters, marks, etc., should appear on your registration plate.

If you select legal plates on the home page then these are road legal and NCT compliant plates.

Free standard delivery takes anything from 2-10 working days.
Expedited, tracked delivery: We prioritise these orders and where an order is placed by 2 pm they are generally delivered the next working day. However sometimes delays are inevitable so we ask you to allow 3 working days.
International Delivery: We ship worldwide but shipping times vary greatly from country to country. We can also offer a tracked international delivery option, please email us to get a quotation.

A. Customer satisfaction with every order is our priority. As plates are made to order only damaged or incorrectly printed plates may be returned. Please check your order carefully before placing it as we cannot be responsible for customer error. However if the error is on our side please contact us by phone or email as soon as possible and we will work quickly to rectify our error. All requests for replacement must be made within 14 days of receipt of your order.
